The Paint Shed recommends

For best results apply 1 coat of  Fastflow Quick Drying Primer Undercoat first before applying 2 topcoats of Satin.

Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Satin is a water-based, durable satin paint for use on interior and exterior joinery and metalwork. Fastflow Quick Dry Satin has excellent opacity and a smooth, low-sheen finish. It has all the characteristics of a traditional solvent-based satin, with the added benefits of a water-based formulation, including quick drying and low odour.

Applying Fastflow Quick Dry Satin

First apply 1 coat of Fastflow Quick Drying Primer Undercoat to a clean, dry surface and follow with 2 full coats of Fastflow Quick Dry Satin.

how soon can you apply a second coat?
Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Satin is touch dry in 1-2 hours and ready for a recoat in 4-6 hours.
How long does Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Sati take to fully cure hard?
Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Satin will fully cure hard in 24 hours.
Do you need primer undercoat even when cupboards have been previously painted? What preparation do you recommend? Will it be hard-wearing and durable for kitchen cupboards?
If the existing paint is solid and not damaged, there is no need to prime. Simply create a key by gently sanding before applying your chosen topcoat. Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Satin is suitable but acrylic eggshell or gloss is also a durable option.
Has anyone tried to use a air spray gun to apply this product? What are the thinning specs? Do I need a 2mm setup on my spray gun or will a 1.4 do for the primer and satin finish? Thanks
There is no thinning spec provided by Crown but we would suggest thinning by 10%. In terms of which tip to use, it is best to contact the spray gun manufacturer for advice.
Hi I’ve previously used water based Dulux satin wood on doors. I found it not durable and the flow of the paint was poor. Can you please advice if your quick dry satin wood is durable for this purpose .
Yes, The Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Satin would be suitable.

How many windows and doors are there in the area you want to paint?

This is based on a coverage of 10m² per litre of paint and one coat of paint.

Make sure you always check the coverage on the product page before purchasing and, if covering a dark or bright colour, you may need two or three coats.
