Sadolin Superdec is a water-borne, highly durable opaque finish for cladding and exterior joinery. This tinted variety of the product is used when you want a colourful tinted finish from your wood. The stain is highly flexible and erodes naturally by weathering, ensuring the coating remains flexible and resists cracking, peeling or flaking. It is also useful for anyone looking to use a stain on uneven surfaces.

Getting a good deal on Sadolin Superdec is simple when you shop at The Paint Shed. We have the best prices on Sadolin products, and you can get your preferred colour of stain delivered in no time at all. With 1, 2.5, and 5-litre cans in stock, you can get the right Sadolin stain for any upcoming woodcare job.

Sadolin Superdec is great at helping revive wood and give it a new lease of life, especially if choosing a bold colour. It helps to know how to use this stain effectively. It is a flexible coating which works to your advantage throughout the seasons when wood wants to expand and contract.

We recommend using Sadolin Superdec Tinted Stain on window frames, doors & cladding. Ideally, you’ll want to apply it to wood where you are looking for a unique and vibrant finish from the colour. We can pre-mix the stain in anything from Butterscotch Yellow to Amazonian Green. You can see the colours available by clicking the colour wheel above.

It is self-priming and works as an undercoat, so there’s usually no need to get a separate product. It can be applied to new and previously painted or stained surfaces. Depending on how liberal you are with the stain, you can average between 10-15 sq. m per litre. If you’re opting for one of the lighter tones, especially anything off white, it is advisable to use a blocking primer to prevent discolouration.

Exterior stains, varnishes and paints come with a whole set of different rules than what you’re familiar with when painting indoors. If this will be your first time painting outside or using stain, we recommend reading some of the articles in our advice section, especially those involving working in the garden.

And for anyone who knows they’re going to be using a stain over a cracked area or wood with holes, and they want to ensure the stain will sink in without interruption, it is important to get a filler which closely matches the wood’s finish. You will be able to find appropriate products in our selection of wood fillers.

How many windows and doors are there in the area you want to paint?

This is based on a coverage of 10m² per litre of paint and one coat of paint.

Make sure you always check the coverage on the product page before purchasing and, if covering a dark or bright colour, you may need two or three coats.
