The Paint Shed recommends

For best results, apply 1 coat of Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Primer Undercoat before applying 2 topcoats of eggshell.

Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Eggshell is a classic low-sheen eggshell finish paint for interior wood and metal. A water-based paint with the Crown Trade Breatheasy formulation, which is 99% solvent free, means it is low odour and quick drying, enabling minimal disruption during decoration. It has excellent flow properties making it easy to apply and provides a classic low-sheen eggshell finish.

Perfect for skirting boards, bannisters and interior metal trim and available in hundreds of colours including colour matching.

Applying Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Eggshell

If painting wood, ensure knots have been treated and any holes or cracks are filled before gently sanding and priming with Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Primer Undercoat.

If painting metal, gently abraid to a bright, not polished, surface (excluding galvanised surfaces) before applying a suitable metal primer and following with 1 coat of Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Primer Undercoat.

For best results, finally apply 2 coats using a brush or roller in the direction of the wood grain, keeping a wet edge. If applied using a spray, thinning may be required with clean water.

How many windows and doors are there in the area you want to paint?

This is based on a coverage of 10m² per litre of paint and one coat of paint.

Make sure you always check the coverage on the product page before purchasing and, if covering a dark or bright colour, you may need two or three coats.
