FAQs

The best ceiling paint we sell, and is also strongly recommended by our professional decorators, is Tikkurila Anti-Reflex 2. This paint offers a deep, flat finish regardless of how the light hits it. This means you can hide any imperfections and also benefit from great coverage.

As bathrooms are prone to high levels of moisture, you need a ceiling paint which is mould resistant and which also can fight against fungal growth. Our recommended ceiling paint for bathrooms is Zinsser Perma White

Choosing a standard white emulsion won’t effectively hide imperfections on your ceiling. Many white emulsions reflect light and lack the forgiving qualities of a flat finish. For better results, we recommend using Tikkurila Anti-Reflex 2.

  1. Before you start, sand any imperfections or areas with an uneven surface so you can enjoy a perfectly smooth finish.
  2. Put a cover over any expensive furniture or decorative items to avoid any splashes, spills or sprays.
  3. Mask the edges of your wall, including any fixtures like light fixings or fire alarms.
  4. Using a paint brush, carefully cut in around the intricate items you have masked off - like your light fixings and fire alarms.
  5. Using an extension pole and medium roller (opt for a high quality roller like this Arroworthy roller). Load your roller up with paint, but do not overload it as this can avoid spray & spillages.
  6. Carefully apply your first coat, and leave this to dry for around 5-6 hours. Open any windows to maximise circulation and to aid overall drying time.
  7. Apply your second coat, and before the paint drys make sure and remove your masking tape as this will help deliver crisp, clean lines
  8. Remove your dust sheets and restore your room - sit back and enjoy your freshly painted ceiling!
