As a stain-resistant, water-repellent and abrasion-resistant oil, it is perfect for interior wood surfaces, such as floors and furniture. Offering an even finish thanks to plant-based ingredients, Polyx Oil is super quick to apply, eliminating the need for a primer or sanding. It is a hard-wearing choice that is safe for use on children’s toys as well as garden furniture.
Door Oil

Osmo Door-Oil is dirt-repellent, resistant to water and abrasion, and smooths the surface. Creating a microporous surface, this oil coating will not crack, peel, flake or blister. Natural Oil Woodstain
Osmo Natural Woodstain is a transparent, satin wood finish based on natural oils. Extremely weather-resistant, Osmo Natural Oil Woodstain is suitable for all outdoor wood.
This product creates a microporous surface that lets the wood breathe. It helps reduce swelling and shrinkage while repelling water and resisting UV damage. UV Protection Oil
Use UV Protection Oil for exterior protection for vertical surfaces, like timber sheds and fences. Osmo UV Oil significantly slows down greying, offering up to 12 times more UV resistance than untreated wood.
The Osmo range is a sustainable choice for protecting and enhancing your wood surfaces. Here’s why we highly recommend it:
-
Made from renewable and refined natural resources: Using carefully harvested natural vegetable and plant-based oils and hard waxes, it is environmentally friendly and safe for use around children and pets.
-
Long-lasting results: Osmo wood protectors offer outstanding durability, resulting in fewer touch-ups and less frequent renovation, which saves you time and money.
-
Superior coverage: Each tin of Osmo Oil covers almost double the area compared to standard wood care products, providing greater value.
-
Easy application: All Osmo products are easy to apply. Wood can be a tricky surface to deal with, but with Osmo products, there is no sanding required. Usually, one coat is enough, or if treating fresh wood, two coats are advised for best results.
-
Highly resistant finish: The product is highly resistant to cracks, blisters and peeling once dry. Creating a microporous surface that is water repellent, Osmo oils and waxes protect and treat wood without drying it out.
Most Osmo oils are touch dry after 24 hours; however, they do not fully cure until around 10-14 days. We recommend you check the details on the tin of your specific Osmo product.
For kitchen worktops, you’ll need only one coat of Osmo Top Oil for renovation and two coats for bare wood.
How to oil kitchen worktops
The best way to oil your kitchen worktop is to:
-
Apply a thin first coat of Osmo Top Oil along the wood grain with an Osmo Microfibre Roller or Flat Brush.
-
Allow it to dry for approximately 8-10 hours in a well-ventilated area.
-
Apply the second coat with an Osmo Oil Finish Applicator Fleece or a lint-free cloth.
-
For renovations, one coat applied to the clean and dry surface with an Oil Finish Applicator Fleece or lint-free cloth is usually sufficient.

Osmo Door Oil is ready to use, which means there is no need to thin. Simply shake well before use and clean old microporous stains thoroughly, as well as removing old paints, varnishes and lacquers.
For quick and easy application, use the Osmo Flat Brush or Osmo Microfibre Roller, applying thinly and evenly to the clean and dry wood along the grain, spreading well. Allow for good ventilation while drying, and once dry, apply a second coat – also thinly.
Applying Osmo wood oils, like Polyx, is super easy:
-
Prepare the surface, ensure the wood is clean and dry with any microporous stain thoroughly washed, and any cracks or holes in the wood filled adequately.
-
Apply a thin coat along the wood grain and spread well using the Osmo Flat Brush, Floor Brush, or Roller with Hand Pad Holder.
-
Do not thin the oil and leave to dry for between 8-10 hours with good ventilation.
-
After drying, apply a second coat thinly.
-
After 2-3 weeks, the surface will be fully cured.
If applying to a surface that has already been oiled, one coat is enough. Do not apply too generously, as this will extend drying times.
