-
Long-lasting results: Osmo wood protectors offer outstanding durability, resulting in fewer touch-ups and less frequent maintenance, saving you time and money.
-
Superior coverage: Each tin of Osmo Oil covers almost double the area of standard wood care products.
-
Easy application: While wood can be a tricky surface to deal with, Osmo products require minimal sanding, depending on the surface condition. Usually, one coat is enough. However, two coats are advised for treating fresh wood.
-
Highly resistant finish: After application, the product is highly resistant to cracking, blistering and peeling once dry. Creating a microporous surface that is water repellent and dirt-resistant, Osmo outdoor oils and waxes protect and treat various wood species without drying them out.

FAQs about Our Osmo Products
Most Osmo oil-based products are touch-dry 24 hours after application. However, they don’t fully cure until around 10-14 days. We recommend checking the details on the tin of your specific Osmo product.
For kitchen worktops, you’ll need only one coat of Osmo Top Oil for renovation and two coats for bare timber/untreated wood.
The ideal way to oil your kitchen worktop is to:
-
Apply a thin first coat of Osmo Top Oil along the untreated wood grain with an Osmo Microfibre Roller or Flat Brush.
-
After application, allow it to dry for approximately 8-10 hours in a well-ventilated area.
-
Apply the second coat with a lint-free cloth.
-
For renovations, one coat applied to a clean and dry surface with an Oil Finish Applicator Fleece or lint-free cloth is usually sufficient.

Osmo Door Oil is a ready-to-use treatment, meaning there is no need to thin it. Simply:
-
Shake well before use
-
Clean old microporous stains thoroughly
-
Remove old paints, varnishes and lacquers
-
Use the Osmo Flat Brush for quick and easy application.
-
Apply thinly and evenly to the clean, dry wood along the grain, spreading well.
-
After application, allow for good ventilation while drying.
-
Once dry, apply a thin second coat.
Applying Osmo wood oils to untreated wood is super easy:
-
Prepare the surface, ensuring the wood is clean and dry with microporous stains thoroughly washed, and any cracks or holes in the wood are filled adequately.
-
Apply a thin base coat along the wood grain and spread well using the Osmo Flat Brush, Floor Brush, or Roller with Hand Pad Holder.
-
Do not thin the oil. Leave to dry for between 8 and 10 hours with good ventilation.
-
After drying, apply a second coat thinly.
-
After 2-3 weeks, the surface will be fully cured.
If applying to an already oiled surface, one coat is enough. Don’t apply too generously, as this will extend drying times. In addition, you can use the Osmo Spray Cleaner to periodically clean the top coat without damaging the wood. This maintenance practice helps to increase its longevity and visual appeal.
