The Paint Shed recommends

Ideal for high-traffic areas of the home like hallways thanks to its washable, scrubbable finish.

Dulux Trade Diamond Matt is a water-based emulsion, designed to fully utilize the Dulux Diamond technology which is up to 10 times tougher than similar durable emulsions available on the market. Its matt finish swiftly covers up imperfections on any surface and its quick-drying and low odour properties allow for fast job completion times. Best used on walls and ceilings, in places of high traffic, e.g. hallways and staircases, this is a low maintenance, highly durable interior paint.

Dulux Trade Diamond Matt also utilizes the new Dulux Trade Stain Repellent Technology, which prevents stains from penetrating the paint, or the surface, making it really easy to clean with common household methods without damaging the finish or colour.

With a smooth consistency that is easy to apply with a brush, roller or spray, this tough matt emulsion has very little odour making it perfect for homes, and jobs requiring quick completion. Best suited for use on interior walls, ceilings and drywall, it offers superior coverage to other durable matt emulsions at 16m2/L, thanks to the unique Diamond technology.

If you’re not too familiar with durable emulsion paints, it helps to know what makes a product like Dulux Trade Diamond Matt different from a vinyl matt or contract matt. Dulux Trade Diamond Matt is up to 10 times more resilient than Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt. Diamond products can withstand high wear and tear, as well as rough cleaning whereas Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt will only tolerate light, infrequent wiping or washing. Contract matt is the least durable but is a great option as a basecoat for new plaster or if you're on a tight budget.

Applying Dulux Trade Diamond Matt

For best results, apply two coats to a clean, dry surface using a brush, roller or spray. Thanks to its water-based formula, this low VOC paint will dry quickly between coats meaning you can apply the second coat in 3-6 hours.

How many windows and doors are there in the area you want to paint?

This is based on a coverage of 10m² per litre of paint and one coat of paint.

Make sure you always check the coverage on the product page before purchasing and, if covering a dark or bright colour, you may need two or three coats.
