The Paint Shed recommends

Apply directly to previously painted surfaces with no need to prime or undercoat unless a strong colour change is required, making it a quick and simple process.

Dulux Trade Satinwood is a solvent-based trim paint that is suitable for use on interior metal and wood surfaces, where a tough and resistant finish is needed. It doesn’t require an undercoat unless a strong colour change is required and is easy to apply.

Perfect for skirting boards, interior doors and sills, this durable satinwood paint will withstand wear and tear easily.

Customer Questions
Can Dulux Trade Satinwood be used externally?

No, we wouldn't recommend using Dulux Trade Satinwood outdoors. Instead, try an exterior wood paint like Dulux Trade Weathershield Quick Drying Exterior Satin.

What primer should I use for bare wood?
Dulux Trade Satinwood doesn't need a primer or undercoat, even on bare wood. Two coats will be enough to provide a smooth, durable finish.

How many windows and doors are there in the area you want to paint?

This is based on a coverage of 10m² per litre of paint and one coat of paint.

Make sure you always check the coverage on the product page before purchasing and, if covering a dark or bright colour, you may need two or three coats.
