Ideal for interior wood exposed to high wear, such as floors and bannisters, Dulux Trade Diamond Glaze is the perfect solution, providing 10 times tougher protection than conventional varnish. The water-based formula has excellent coverage of up 25m2/L on smooth wood. Diamond Glaze can also be applied to doors, trim and furniture where wear and tear protection is required.

This product comes in a Clear Gloss finish and is also available in a clear satin finish; Dulux Trade Clear Satin

Applying Dulux Trade Diamond Glaze Varnish

For optimum results, stir well before use but try not to whip the glaze to avoid frothing which will leave air bubbles when applied. Using a brush or mohair pile roller, apply 2-3 coats to a clean, dry surface. Seal all new or bare wood by applying one coat of Clear Gloss Diamond Glaze before following up with the regular 2-3 coats afterwards.

Apply evenly and consistently along the woodgrain taking care to keep the wet edge. We recommend applying a small test area first to check adhesion and appearance. When recoating allow at least 2 hours between coats. Rub down lightly along the grain between coats using a fine-grade adhesive paper. Light foot traffic is possible after 24 hours but to prevent possible damage to the floor while the full mechanical resistance develops, avoid heavy wear and do not replace carpet or rugs or move furniture for at least 7 days after application.

Customer Questions
Is this good to seal painted melamine cabinets?

No, The Dulux Trade Diamond Glaze Varnish Clear Gloss would not be suitable. For this kind of surface the Dulux Quick Dry Varnish Gloss would be better.

How many windows and doors are there in the area you want to paint?

This is based on a coverage of 10m² per litre of paint and one coat of paint.

Make sure you always check the coverage on the product page before purchasing and, if covering a dark or bright colour, you may need two or three coats.
