    Johnstone's Trade Professional Undercoat is a premium quality, solvent-based undercoat suitable for use on interior and exterior wood and metal surfaces. It provides the perfect surface for overcoating with Johnstone's Professional Gloss, Eggshell or Satin paints. Easy to apply and offering great opacity and adhesion, this is a dependable undercoat for wood and metal surfaces. Professional Undercoat creates a high film build which makes it suitable for sanding or hiding imperfections.

    Is this product suitable for use on sanded metal railings with some rust instead of primer?
    Yes, We would recommend using a wire brush to remove any flaked rust then you can apply the Johnstone's Trade Professional Undercoat
