Johnstone's Trade Woodworks Classic Matt Woodstain has been formulated to provide easy maintenance and a protective matt finish for exterior timber. Suitable for use on rough-sawn decking and cladding as well as new or bare timber. It protects the wood and provides a microporous finish that resists cracking, blistering and peeling. It can be used on its own (2-3 coats) or as part of a system (1 coat Classic Matt Woodstain, 2 coats Classic Satin Woodstain) to provide up to 5 years of weather protection. First apply a suitable wood preserver for maximum protection on new, bare, and untreated wood.
Also suitable for interior wood to provide a long-lasting protective coating.
Applying Johnstone's Trade Woodworks Classic Matt Woodstain
For best results apply 2-3 coats using a brush in the direction of the wood grain paying special attention to the end grains. New or bare wood should receive at least 2 coats for maximum protection, ideally 3. For brand new softwoods, a wood preserver is advised before applying the stain. Please also note, the colour of the wood in it's untreated state will impact the final colour of the stain. The colour indicated on the tin is only a guide.
