    Customer Questions
Is Intelligent water-based primer suitable for traditional oil-based paint?
Yes, Little Greene Intelligent All Surface Primer can be used under oil-based coatings.
Can intelligent waterbased primer be used over varnish?
No, The Little Greene Intelligent All Surface Primer can not be applied over varnish. We would recommend sanding back to bare wood, as the paint would not adhere well to a varnished surface.
Once varnish is sanded can I use absolute Matt over the primer ? I have doors on a wall I wish to paint and they need to be the same finish

No, We recommend the Little Greene Intelligent All Surface Primer working with Intelligent Satinwood or Intelligent Eggshell.

Can this be used under Intelligent Masonry Paint
No, For Intelligent Masonry, we wouldn’t recommend a primer with this, we would advise, thinning down your first coat by around 10% additional water, followed by 2 full coats. The thinned down coat would act as a primer/undercoat
Is intelligent all surface primer suitable for walls papered with lining paper
Yes, The Little Greene Intelligent All Surface Primer can be applied.
Can this be used on radiators and copper pipes?
Yes, The Intelligent All Surface Primer, can be used on Radiators, and pipes
Can you use this primer on new plaster walls? and old plastered walls?
No, For the bare plaster we wouldn’t recommend a primer with this, we would advise, thinning down your first coat by around 10% additional water, followed by 2 full coats. The thinned down coat would act as a primer/undercoat.
Can this primer be used on melamine kitchen cupboards
Yes, The Little Greene Intelligent All Surface Primer can be applied to Melamine surfaces.
Once the ASP is applied and dried, do I need to sand it before painting?
No sanding is required, once the Little Greene All purpose primer has been applied and once fully dry you should be able to apply your top coat.
