The Paint Shed recommends

Great for painting UPVC doors and windows thanks to its weather-resistant, low maintenace finish.

Zinsser Allcoat Exterior Matt is a high performance exterior paint suitable for a wide range of surfaces including timber, metal, masonry, plastic, concrete, cladding, UVPC and more. Designed to be a long lasting durable paint, it forms a breathable, low maintenance, water-shedding coating that is touch dry and ready for recoat in just one hour.

Allcoat Matt provides excellent resistance against cracking, blistering, and flaking. The tough finish is resistant to rain and severe weather and offers excellent colour retention. Unlike many other coloured masonry paints, Allcoat Matt won’t darken when wet.

With biocides to protect against fungal degradation, this fully weather resistant matt paint will also bridge any gaps in the surface up to 0.5mm wide.

If you’re looking to add colour to exterior surfaces, you can’t go wrong with Zinsser Allcoat Exterior Matt. A perfect matt garage door paint or UVPC paint, it is available in hundreds of tinted and matched colours including the popular RAL7016 Anthracite Grey. Also available in crisp white and classic black.

Preparation and Application

Allcoat Exterior Matt is self-priming on most surfaces and can be applied to previously painted surfaces without sanding, even over glossy paints or those coated with bitumen, tar varnish or creosote.

Simply remove any mould or mildew on your surface and apply using a brush, roller or spray. The first coat primes and seals the surface, providing a base for the topcoat. The topcoat completes the sealing process while providing additional moisture resistance and protection.

If you are painting bare ferrous metal, prime with Zinsser Coverstain and abrade and degrease unweathered powder coatings before painting.
