Sadolin Interior Stain

Sadolin Interior Stain is a woodstain suitable for interior wood and trim including skirtings, cills, panelling, shelving, banisters and most other interior wood. It contains UV filters to minimise colour fading from the effects of sunlight and is a tough, durable finish to guard against everyday wear and tear. Unlike other interior stains, it doesn’t require overcoating with varnish. It can be used on flooring but we would recommend over coating with Sadolin Extra Durable Floor Varnish.

Applying Sadolin Interior Stain

Sadolin Interior Stain should be applied in a full flowing coat ensuring all surfaces and end grains are fully coated. For best results use a good quality, long-haired, soft bristle brush, paying special attention to end grain, tops and bottoms of doors, and undersides of sills. Finish with 2 or 3 full coats of Sadolin Extra Durable Clearcoat (dependent on the job) allowing a minimum of 16-24 hours drying between coats. Avoid over brushing as this will cause brush marks and result in a poor quality finish.

Water based products can often lead to raised grain on some timber surfaces causing them to feel rough to the touch. It is possible to reduce this by wiping the timber surface with a damp cloth, allowing to dry and using a fine grade nylon abrasive pad or a fine grade (P240 or finer) wet or dry silicone carbide abrasive paper in the direction of the grain after the first coat. Remove any dust and apply the 2nd coat afterwards.
