What are Kana Brushes?

Kana brushes are made by Ciret, who are a well-known name in the decorating world. The Paint Shed stocks some products from other Ciret brands, including Beeline.

We tend to focus mostly on their synthetic brushes, especially the likes of their advanced synthetic brush. It is an excellent product when you want a brush which provides gradual paint release and proper loading.

The Kana advanced synthetic brush is available in the following sizes:

  • 1 inch
  • 5 inch
  • 2 inch
  • 3 inch

Why use Kana Brushes?

You would want to get yourself a Kana brush when in the market for an all-rounder, i.e. something that can help with almost any paint job.

The beavertail handles ensure that if you have to use the brush for a longer period, you’re less likely to feel any strain on the wrist. The synthetic bristles are also fantastic at paint retention, and you’ll rarely see bristle loss if you’re using the brush intensively.

Can these brushes be used on different paints?

Kana brushes are best used on emulsions and water-based paints, due to the makeup of the synthetic bristles.

Looking after your brush

Another great thing about Kana brushes is that they’re designed to fit in most vapour boxes. If you don’t have one already, we suggest visiting the likes of our Brush Mate section to see if there’s a suitable vapour box in stock. It’s the difference between having a brush that gives you problems after a few uses, and a brush which will last for years.

Getting Ready to Paint

At The Paint Shed, we want to make sure you have everything you need before opening a new can of paint for the first time (by the way, we do have can openers in stock if you ever need one). It’s important to us that when you’re using premium products that your workspace is cleaned and prepared correctly.

Luckily, our cleaning & prep section has all the necessary products in one space so you can get some dust sheets, tapes and other necessities to avoid any mistakes or spills while you paint.  If you’re not sure what you would need, visit our tips & advice area for articles on how to prepare different surfaces and rooms for painting.
