Dulux Trade Quick Dry Opaque is a high-performing, water-based woodstain. It produces an opaque, solid colour and is resistant to flaking, peeling or blistering thanks to its highly flexible finish. A quick drying formula that is ready for recoat after only 2 hours, it protects exterior wood for up to 10 years. Suitable for hardwoods and softwoods, we recommend using this durable woodstain on everything from exterior window frames, sheds and fences to garden furniture and wooden garage doors.

Applying Dulux Trade Quick Dry Opaque

To benefit from 10 years of protection we recommend washing the wooden surface with Weathershield Fungicidal Wash before rubbing down to remove any greying and weathered wood. Apply an undercoat before applying two full coats of Quick Dry Opaque.

Customer Questions
Can Dulux Trade Weathershield Quick Dry Opaque be used on metal garage doors?

We wouldn't recommend Dulux Trade Weathershield Quick Dry Opaque for use on metal doors, it is a wood specific product so is best used on wooden surfaces. We would recommend Zinsser Allcoat for metal garage doors instead as it offers a long-lasting, durable finish on a variety of surfaces including metal, wood, UPVC and more.

How many windows and doors are there in the area you want to paint?

This is based on a coverage of 10m² per litre of paint and one coat of paint.

Make sure you always check the coverage on the product page before purchasing and, if covering a dark or bright colour, you may need two or three coats.
