Dulux Trade Weathershield Quick Dry Exterior Undercoat is part 2 of a 3-part weather-resistant and quick-drying paint system for exterior trim and woodwork. This water-based undercoat offers great flexibility to allow for the natural movement of wood that occurs with weather changes. Specifically formulated to be used with Dulux Trade Weathershield topcoats to provide up to 8 years of protection for exterior woodwork. Ideal to achieve strong colour changes and high opacity in fewer coats than other similar products available.
Touch dry in just 1-2 hours, this fast-drying undercoat is ready for recoating or a topcoat after just 4-6 hours.
Applying Weathershield Quick Dry Exterior Undercoat
To benefit from the full 8 years of protection, first clean and dry the wood surface using a Fungicidal Wash before rubbing down to remove any weathered, greyed wood. Next start by applying one coat of Weathershield Preservative Primer allowing it to dry for 16 hours. Follow on by applying two coats of Weathershield Quick Dry Undercoat before applying your chosen topcoat. Dulux Trade Weathershield Exterior High Gloss is a recommended top coat in this 3-part system.
