Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt is a premium quality matt emulsion formulated for interior use on walls and ceilings. In addition, it can be used on suitably primed woodwork and brickwork. This low-odour paint is washable and wipeable, providing a tough finish that is resistant to mould, condensation, yellowing and most household stains. Its outstanding durability makes it ideal for use in kitchens, bathrooms, hotels, hospitals and public buildings.

How to Apply Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt

For best results, apply to a clean, dry surface using a brush, roller or sprayer. Apply two coats evenly allowing to dry for 3-4 hours between each. Offering great coverage, 1 litre should cover up to 16 square metres.

We would recommend using Johnstone's Trade Joncryl Primer Undercoat for best results.

Can Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt be painted over varnish?
We recommend sanding back the varnish completely before applying Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt.
What is the sheen level % please?
Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt has a very low sheen level of 5%.
Is Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt paint breathable? Is it suitable for the interior walls and ceilings of old sandstone Victorian houses?
Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt isn't microporous so wouldn't be considered breathable but it can be used on the interior walls of older properties including Victorian homes.
Will Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt go straight on to fresh plaster?
Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt can be applied to fresh plaster but we recommend applying a mist coat first to seal the surface before applying 2 full coats.

Can I use it on MDF cupboard doors which have been primed with MDF primer.

Yes, You can use the Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt however the paint will not last. We would recommend using Johnstone's Acrylic Eggshell for a longer lasting effect.

Can this be used on an acrylic kitchen worktop
No, We would not recommend the Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt as it would not be food safe.
Can I use it on my skirting boards and doors and frames wooden
Yes, The Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt can be applied. We do recommend that any surface is primed before application.
Is this mould resistant?
Yes, The Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt is mould-resistant. It is also resistant to condensation, yellowing and most household stains
Can this be painted over silk paint? I have read a recommended to use 100 percent paint for this like Aura paint but wondered if this can be used instead
Silk Emulsion will require the walls be lightly sanded to abrade the sheen (permeable film) or you can apply a primer such as Zinsser bullseye 123.
