Little Greene Tom’s Oil Eggshell is an oil based exterior eggshell paint that offers a traditional finish. Super practical and hard-wearing as a result of its oil based formula, it offers a low sheen finish that is fully weather resistant.

This exterior eggshell paint is eco-friendly, having replaced the mineral oils of traditional oil eggshell paints with new, sustainable alternatives that are not only better for our planet, but also ensure an exceptionally long lasting finish.

Tom's Oil Eggshell is washable and opaque in colour with a low sheen. It will be touch dry in 2-3 hours but should be left for at least 16 hours before applying a second coat.

Ideal for exterior woodwork and metal work such as garden furniture, window frames, timber outbuildings and railings, it has been designed with efficiency in mind.

Please note that all Little Greene paint is mixed to order so cannot be refunded or exchanged.

Customer Questions
bathroom vanity paint?

You can use Little Greene Tom's Oil Eggshell for a bathroom vanity if properly primed first. We recommend priming using Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 for proper adhesion.

Please could you tell me what would be the best primer for exterior woodwork to use with Tom’s Oil Eggshell?

Little Greene Tom's Oil Eggshell is perfect for exterior wood when primed first with Little Greene Aluminium Wood Primer.

Hi, I want to do my bedroom walls in intelligent mat emulsion and also paint the fitted, plywood wardrobes in the same colour, is there any reason I shouldn't use Tom's Oil Eggshell with it being exterior paint? I want it as close to matt as I can get but also fit for purpose on a wardrobe (i.e. hard wearing). Obviously I could use satin but that's a bit more shiny.. The wardrobes are previously painted so would I be OK sanding and using Bulls Eye 1-2-3 and no undercoat ?

We would recommend using Little Greene Intelligent Eggshell on the wardrobes rather than Tom's Oil as it's water-based and durable, designed for interior wooden surfaces and also very low sheen. You could prime with Zinsser Bullseye 1-2-3 but there is no need to sand first, it can be applied directly.

How many windows and doors are there in the area you want to paint?

This is based on a coverage of 10m² per litre of paint and one coat of paint.

Make sure you always check the coverage on the product page before purchasing and, if covering a dark or bright colour, you may need two or three coats.
