The Paint Shed recommends

There's no need for a separate primer or undercoat, this tough glossy finish is self-priming and can be applied to almost any surface.

Paint and Paper Library Architects Gloss is a water-based gloss paint that can be applied to interior or exterior surfaces including wood, metal, glass, tiles, furniture and radiators. The high gloss finish makes it a durable, sophisticated finish that looks great on front doors, garage doors and garden furniture.

The latest formula is not only multi-surface but is also self-priming which means quicker turnaround times.

Applying Paint and Paper Library Architects Gloss

For best results apply 2-3 topcoats of gloss using a brush, roller or spray to a clean, degreased surface. If using a conventional sprayer, thin by up to 40% with clean water or 20% if using an airless sprayer.

While this tough gloss paint is self-priming, we recommend 1 coat of Paint and Paper Library ASP if painting over cracked or deteriorated paint that has been previously applied. If painting over previously painted surfaces which are sound, 2 coats of gloss is enough or if painting new or bare surfaces, we recommend 3 coats of gloss for maximum durability.

While this high-shine paint can be applied to tiles, we don't recommend using it in a shower cubicle. It can be used on tiles around a bath, sink or splash back, but avoid shower cubicles.

How many windows and doors are there in the area you want to paint?

This is based on a coverage of 10m² per litre of paint and one coat of paint.

Make sure you always check the coverage on the product page before purchasing and, if covering a dark or bright colour, you may need two or three coats.
