The Paint Shed recommends

There's no need for a separate primer or undercoat, this tough matt finish is self-priming and can be applied to almost any surface.

Paint and Paper Library Architects Matt is a water-based emulsion paint with a flat matt finish. This rich flat matt emulsion is highly durable and can be washed and scrubbed clean without damaging the colour or finish. It's suitable for interior or exterior walls, ceilings, woodwork,  radiators and even tiles and glass. You can use it anywhere in your home including busy or high-humidity areas such as bathrooms, kitchens and hallways.

Plus, the latest formula is self-priming which means quicker turnaround times on the job and less faff all in!

Applying Paint and Paper Library Architects Matt

Apply 2 coats using a brush, roller or spray to a clean, dry surface. If spraying, thin by 40% with clean water in a conventional sprayer or by 20% with an airless sprayer.

If you're applying this matt finish to exterior surfaces, we recommend only painting when you can be sure of 7-10 dry days afterwards to allow for uninterrupted curing time or painting exterior surfaces in sheltered areas.

For all other surfaces, 2 coats is enough unless painting over new or bare surfaces where we'd recommend a third topcoat for maximum durability. If painting previously painted surfaces which are no longer sound, we recommend one coat of Paint and Paper Library ASP before 2 topcoats.

How many windows and doors are there in the area you want to paint?

This is based on a coverage of 10m² per litre of paint and one coat of paint.

Make sure you always check the coverage on the product page before purchasing and, if covering a dark or bright colour, you may need two or three coats.
