The Paint Shed recommends

Ideal for garden furniture, sheds and fences thanks to its long-lasting finish and fast drying time.

Johnstone's Trade Woodworks Quick Dry Opaque Wood Finish combines the benefits of the very latest water based technology with the best attributes of solvent based coatings. The new formulation gives a long lasting, all weather, micro-porous, protective, satin finish that is ideal for garden furniture and exterior woodwork on both rough sawn planed timber and smooth. It ensures most tasks can be completed in one day thanks to its quick drying formula.

Applying Johnstone's Trade Woodworks Quick Dry Opaque Wood Finish

Ensure all timber to be treated is sound, clean, dry and free from dust, grease, polish or any other surface contaminant. Treat any mould or lichen with a fungicidal wash as directed. Sand smooth natural planed wood and wipe clean with White Spirit to remove any natural oils or resins and allow to dry. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960 paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.

Suitable for Exterior use, Garden furniture, trellis work, cladding, sheds, gates, fascias, fencing, rough sawn and smooth planed timber.

Customer Questions
Can Johnstone's Trade Woodworks Quick Dry Opaque Wood Finish be used on an existing painted surface or must it be sanded down to bare wood before application?
You can apply Johnstone's Trade Woodworks Quick Dry Opaque Wood Finish over previously painted surfaces but we recommend gently sanding to create a key and removing any flaking or peeling previous paint.
Hi do you mix Johnstone's Trade Woodworks Quick Dry Opaque Wood Finish?

We don't tint the quick dry version but we do tint the regular Woodworks Opaque here

How many windows and doors are there in the area you want to paint?

This is based on a coverage of 10m² per litre of paint and one coat of paint.

Make sure you always check the coverage on the product page before purchasing and, if covering a dark or bright colour, you may need two or three coats.
