Demidekk Decking and Garden Stain is a Scandinavian water-based wood stain designed for preserving outdoor wood and pressure-impregnated woods that are used for decking, garden furniture, sheds and more. Demidekk Decking and Garden Stain offers a high-quality protective coating that effectively shields outdoor wood from water, harmful UV rays and algae growth.
The unique design of Demidekk’s Decking and Garden Stain significantly slows down the process of greying due to sun damage, while also preventing moisture and cracks. It has great penetrating and water repellent properties that protect against mould and algae growth. Dry to touch in just a few hours it withstands moisture one hour after application. Available in a wide range of colours, Demidekk garden stains can also be used as a weathered-grey stain to create the look of a natural, even grey. It is non-film forming and must absorb completely into the wood for a long-lasting finish. When applied properly one coat can last up to three years, so your wood can stay protected for longer. The translucent satin finish enhances the natural grain and qualities of the treated wood while adding a hint of colour.
Applying Demidekk Decking & Garden Stain Overview
We recommend that you apply with a brush or roller on dry, clean and healthy wood for professional results and suggest that the contents of the tin should be mixed before application using a paint stirrer. Avoid application in direct sunlight, high humidity or low temperatures as it could lead to condensation. Start by applying one thin coat along the full length of your surface, removing any excess with a lint-free cloth. Allow the stain to penetrate the wood without forming a thick film on the surface. It is recommended that you continue to brush into the previous area for an even result.
In ideal conditions, it will be touch dry in only 5 hours and walk on dry in 12 hours. Typical coverage is 6-10 m2/lt dependent on the porosity of the wood.
Please note that untreated, stained or oiled wood should be treated with Demidekk Terrassfix before applying Decking and Garden Stain for optimum results.
