Creating a White Colour Scheme

If you are looking for a white colour scheme throughout a room or area of your home, you should start by buying some sample pots.

You might want to consider painting your woodwork the same colour as the walls, often seen in period properties or painting them a shade lighter or darker shade as a contrast.

Don't forget the ceiling. Leaving it bright white can throw the whole scheme off so try a warmer shade here to avoid creating a vacuum.

LG_Portland_Family
LG_Silent_White

Little Greene Silent White paint comes in pale, mid and deep tones creating a harmonious tonal white scheme. Shown here in a relaxed living room.

FB_Wimborne_White

Farrow and Ball Wimborne White is an ever so slightly off-white paint. It's a best-seller year after year thanks to its versatile nature. Shown here in a fresh white bathroom setting.

BM_Chantilly_Lace

Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace is a true white paint. In North facing rooms it'll feel cool, potentially faintly grey but in South facing rooms it'll feel crisp but not clinical.

Where to use white paint?

White paint is in every room at some point, the most common shade is Pure Brilliant White which is most commonly used on doors, skirting boards and bannisters. It's that crisp, bright white colour that some love but others hate and find too clinical. As well as on woodwork and trim, whites are almost always used on ceilings and often are used in bathrooms too.

Monochrome interiors are trending at the moment so you might like to use a white on all fours walls and use a black paint for skirtings, doors and sills instead.

Crown_Crated_Clean_Slate

Crown Crafted Clean Slate is a cool white shade that creates a minimalist look and pairs well with pale oak furniture and gold accents.

LG_FLint

Little Greene Flint is a pale grey off white paint colour that pairs well with Little Greene Chocolate as shown to create a softer monochrome look.

Crown_trade_sail_white

Crown Trade Sail White is a warm white, perfect for pairing with pure brilliant white woodwork to create a simple, minimalist look that isn't clincal.
