Top 5 Washable Designer Paints

Choosing a paint finish for your home that is both practical and aesthetically pleasing doesn't need to be a challenge. The paint industry has evolved a lot in recent years, including the improved durability of paint finishes and, in particular, an improved performance of water-based paints. Traditionally, a decorator would suggest oil-based paint as the most durable finish or water-based paint with a higher sheen level than is considered contemporary these days, such as a vinyl soft sheen or silk finish. Both still have their place and uses, but the increasing demand for a flat or matt finish with durability that allows for busy family homes has come up trumps, and thankfully, so have the paint manufacturers!

We offer a wide range of paints from the top trade and designer paint brands, including Dulux Trade, Benjamin Moore, Farrow and Ball and Little Greene to name a few. All of our brands offer a washable paint finish, but in this article, we'll focus on the washable designer paints. Something that used to be hard to come by, but thankfully, now couldn't be easier to get your hands on.

What is a washable or durable paint?

Put simply, it means a paint that can withstand high traffic, wear and tear, scuffs, scratches, splashes and spills and can be scrubbed clean regularly without compromising the finish or colour. Most washable paints are acrylic, water-based formulas, and many can be used in kitchens and bathrooms thanks to their tough finishes that will withstand humidity and splashes or spills.
