    Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt is a premium quality matt emulsion formulated for interior use on walls and ceilings. In addition, it can be used on suitably primed woodwork and brickwork. This low-odour paint is washable and wipeable, providing a tough finish that is resistant to mould, condensation, yellowing and most household stains. Its outstanding durability makes it ideal for use in kitchens, bathrooms, hotels, hospitals and public buildings.

    How to Apply Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt Brilliant White

    For best results, apply to a clean, dry surface using a brush, roller or sprayer. Apply two coats evenly allowing to dry for 3-4 hours between each. Offering great coverage, 1 litre should cover up to 16 square metres.

    Is it an exterior paint also

    Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt is designed for indoor use only. For exterior surfaces we recommend Johnstone's Trade Stormshield range.

    I have a solid mango wood headboard that i wanted to paint white. Is Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt Brilliant White suitable for this? Would I need a sealer?

    We wouldn't recommend Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt as it's not designed for use on wood. Ideally, you'd use an eggshell or satin finish wood paint after lightly sanding to create a key. We offer a wide range of interior wood paints.

    Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt has a Class 1 Scrub Rating of ISO11998.
    How good is it on wood & is it a brighter white than brilliant white eggshell ??
    Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt Brilliant White is great on interior wood when suitably primed. It provides a durable, tough coating and has a non-yellowing formula which keeps it whiter for longer. It won't be any different in colour from Brilliant White Eggshell but it will be a matt finish so will have a different overall look.
    Can this paint be "diluted" to be used as a mist and final coating on new plaster in a bathroom?
    You could thin with water and use Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt as a mist coat in a bathroom and finish with two full topcoats.
    Is Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt good to use on MDF which has been properly primed, we want a matt finish that is good on MDF?
    Yes you can rely on Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt on MDF if properly primed.

    Hi Is this a good choice for ceiling of a open plan kitchen/diner? Can I paint durable matt on top of a mist coat of contract matt (Armstead trade contract matt emulsion), if not what additional surface preparation is necessary to make that work successfully? thanks phil matt) applied to fresh plaster?
    Yes you can use Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt Brilliant White on top of a mist coat of contract matt, however we would advise applying another layer of contract matt on top of the mist coat before applying the Jst Acrylic Durable Matt. Jst Acrylic Durable Matt product is suitable for high traffic areas & scrubbable should any splashes or dirty marks appear on the walls.
    Can you paint over silk emulsion wihout sanding?

    No we would not advise this as the Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt may not adhere properly. We would advise sanding the surface and applying Zinsser Bulls eye primer 123 before your top coat.

    Would this paint be ok for the inside of a static caravan
    Yes, Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Durable Matt would be suitable to apply
