    Johnstone's Trade Aqua Water Based Satin is an innovative finish that's suitable for use on interior and exterior wood and metal. It applies like a traditional solvent-based gloss but dries with a look and feel more like a traditional satin finish.

    It is low VOC thanks to its water-based formula which also makes it quick drying and low odour, with a tough and durable finish that's at its best when used over Johnstone's Trade Aqua Water Based Undercoat. Available in thousands of colours it covers around 10-12 square metres per litre, depending on the nature and porosity of the painted surface, and will be recoatable in normal conditions in under six hours.

    Applying Johnstone's Trade Aqua Water-Based Satin

    For best results, apply a coat of Johnstone's Trade Aqua Water Based Undercoat to a clean, dry surface before applying two coats of Aqua Water Based Satin using a brush, roller or spray.

    Yes, if you gently sand first to create a key, you can apply Johnstone's Trade Aqua Water-Based Satin over an oil-based paint coating.

    Yes you can use Johnstone's Trade Aqua Water Based Satin in a bathroom thanks to its durable finish.
    Hello, I would like a premium quality interior satin water-based paint for doors and frames etc in traffic white (ral 9016). Can you please help?

    We would recommend Benjamin Moore Scuff X Satin for interior wood and trim. It's a premium, water-based paint that will withstand wear and tear and won't yellow over time.

    What paint can do on wood and plaster wall

    The Johnstone's Trade Aqua Water Based Satin is only suitable for Woodwork and Metalwork. You would have to use Johnstone's Acrylic Eggshell for the plaster.

    Can this be used on radiators? will it withstand heat?
    yes, Provided you use the correct primer the Johnstone's Trade Aqua Water Based Satin can be used on a Radiator.
    Hi, can this be used externally on plastic above windows? bit like fascias and soffits?

    Johnstone's Trade Aqua Water Based Satin can be used for exterior and interior surfaces, we would advise using a primer such as Zinsser Bullseye 123

    Can this be spray applied and if yes, does it need to be thinned before application, please?
    Johnstone's Trade advise for best results use a synthetic brush.
    can this be used on external wooden windows ?

    Yes, Johnstone's Trade Aqua Water Based Satin is suitable for exterior wood work. We would advise properly preparing the surface removing any debris, flaking paint if previously painted, then apply Jst Trade Aqua WB Undercoat before applying the top coat.

    if i've used this same product previously to paint woodwork, can i just re-use it again straight on top - or do i need to sand and undercoat? many thanks
    We would advise wiping the surface down and then creating a slight key for the paint to adhere.
    Can I use this paint on a wooden garden shed

    Yes you can however use Jst Trade Aqua WB Satin however this may need recoated more often than a paint that is designed for sheds that offer UV protection and protection from the elements. We would advise using something like Demidekk Ultimate or Sadolin superdec.

    Can it be put on oil based varnish

    No, waterbased products will not adhere to oil based products. a primer such as Zinsser Bin will need to be applied before the Johnstones Trade Aqua Water Based Satin.
